The Best Cable Waterski Experience In Cape Town, South Africa
Prepare for a thrilling holiday at our Waterski Resort. We have various exciting activity options available such as wakeboarding, kneeboarding and waterskiing.
Blue Rock’s Waterski Resort is equipped with an environmentally friendly ski cable, 5 towers and an overhead pulley system that generally runs at 32 km/h.
The overhead cable system was designed and installed by Rixen Cableways from Germany. It can take up to 10 riders at the same time.
Cable waterskiing is a unique way to experience the thrill of waterskiing without the use of a motor boat. While the boat does produce waves that cable riders can use for height when doing tricks, it’s also important to use the tension of the rope when trying out tricks.
It is a strict requirement that all cable riders must be able to swim. Life jackets must be worn at all times.

Obstacle Course
Blue Rock has one of the largest obstacle courses in the world! It consists of kickers, sliders, rooftops, fun boxes and many more elements to enhance your experience. The latest and newest obstacles, imported from Germany, have been set up for you to show off your stunts and moves. Helmets must be worn at all times when attempting any of these obstacles.
Wakeboarding
This is the most difficult out of all 5 activities available at Blue Rock, but it’s also the most fun and popular. If you can kitesurf, sandboard, snowboard or even skateboard, you’ll have a distinct advantage. Since you’re already used to standing sideways on a board, you will be able to master wakeboarding more quickly than many others.
Waterskiing
With waterskiing, you have the option of strapping your feet into two separate skis or placing both your feet into a single slalom ski. Waterskiing is slightly more difficult than kneeboarding, but once you’re up and running (or, well, skiing) it’s lots of fun and you’ll be coming back for more in no time.
Kneeboarding
Kneeboarding is recommended to everyone visiting Blue Rock. It’s a great way to get to know how the cable pulls you around the 5 towers. This activity is perfect for all ages. It is particularly loved by children because it is simple and lower intensity.
Barefoot/Slalom
We can increase our cable’s running speed so that you can ski barefoot or slalom. Advance bookings are required as the cable generally runs at about 30km/h to accommodate everyone. Barefoot and slalom skiing are some of our most popular activities. Once you give them a try, you’ll see why!
Kitesurfers
Our cable setup has proven to be an excellent training spot for kiters. It’s perfect for beginners to train their board skills without being challenged or thrown about by the wind. For advanced riders, our cable provides an opportunity to ride even when there is no wind!
Equipment Rental
You are welcome to bring your own equipment or hire it from Blue Rock’s shop. We offer kneeboards, skis, wakeboards, mono-skis, slalom skis and discs, as well as long and short wetsuits.
